Now you may be thinking this all sound very interesting, and tapping into your natural creative energy may indeed sound very appealing. But why would you seriously want to invest your time and money into it?
Here are just some of the compelling benefits to be gained by exploring and developing the creative writer in you -
An increased sense of freedom - writing creatively encourages you to explore and expand your imagination. It's an opportunity to go back to the feeling of innocence and not knowing, and being as inquisitive and carefree as a young child.
Higher energy levels - When we're being creative we experience a form of natural high, and increased sense of energy and motivation. We can then carry this forward into the rest of our lives.
Better relationships - When we begin to tap into our inner and limitless creativity, it often makes us realise how much more we have to give. This influences how we interact with others and often make us feel more generous in our relationships.
Connecting to a deeper source - writing creatively and allowing our ideas to flow we feel we're tapping into a deeper or higher source of wisdom than we normally access. Whether it's external or within us, it makes us feel both humble and empowered.
Greater self-confidence - Whether anyone sees our creative work or not, by listening to our inner instincts, and trusting and expressing them in creative ways, we naturally gain in self-confidence. This then overflows into other areas of our lives.

"Dan I loved the Haiku, Visualisation and Creative Flow and Recycle chapters the most. The Haiku was just such a change to what I have been doing and it was really great to experiment.
The cut up and recycle chapter was a lot of fun... I loved this way of finding inspiration. I came up with wonderful scenarios that I'm sure I wouldn't have thought of without this exercise...
I often had butterflies in my stomach and thought, oh boy this exercise is just up my street... If only we had had something like this to inspire us at school!
Before, my inner perfectionist was spoiling my fun but I can definitely see a difference over the past 2 weeks. I am writing more freely with out a doubt. It has been a liberating experience and very exciting."

Further benefits of exploring and developing the creative writer in you include -
Connection with others - by becoming more creative ourselves we are able to connect more intimately to other creative people, whether it's artists that have inspired us or those in our own immediate environment and social circle.
Being your true self - Expressing ourselves creatively is the purest route to becoming our true selves and bringing everything we do in our lives in line with that. We often amaze ourselves at what we can discover through creative expression.
Relieve boredom - How often do you find yourself eating or shopping for example just for something to do? By writing creatively we can stimulate ourselves and at the same time reduce the amount of time-wasting activities and habits we fall into.
Increased self-respect - When we are being creative, we are listening to and honouring our true self. By actually committing ourselves to regular creative expression, we also reduce the time we spend just wishing or dreaming about doing these things.
More time available - when lost in the natural flow of creative pursuits, we often experience a different perception of time, or a timelessness, and feel like we've spent more time being creative than actually has passed.

"I appreciate how "You Are A Creative Writer!" allows one to get in touch with the spirit of play. For me this is essential. Otherwise the scope of the task ("writing one's novel," for example) becomes overwhelming. As I read the exercises, I think, "This might be neat" vs "I can't possibly do this."
I'm moving away from writing exercises being a chore. They've always seemed to be a chore. Now they are play. I come to them with a sense of possibility, not overwhelming expectation.
Everything is very simple, can be done in five or fifteen minutes (my fearful mind likes that!) but also can be as complex as you want it to be.
I have had a lot of fun with it (and still am!).
Thank you for allowing me to play with "You Are A Creative Writer!""
