haikus
sitting cross legged
late sun flickers through your hair
lonely me and you
a tear carves the route
of inescapable loss
down her ancient face
first light reminds me
of how the sun fell last night
we parted estranged
clementine juices
urge your femininity
trickling past your neck
five words leave my mouth
a thousand others choking
dry and unoffered
|
raggedy old blue
his eyes hold still tenderness
I am young again
black thick matted hair
I bury my keen face to
inhale your wood scent
our summer has gone
we watch the light fade over
old majestic pines
sweet prolific poet
but the tenderness of words
can't replace your arms
tumbling unhindered
my snowflake in your canyon
never hits the ground
